The event will focus on the following issues:
1. Advocating for fair working conditions of undocumented migrants;
2. Strategies to promote empowerment of undocumented women;
3. Countering the social exclusion of undocumented families with children; and

PICUM, the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants was founded in 2001 as an initiative of grassroots organisations to mobilise civil society support for
undocumented migrants at the European level, PICUM promotes recognition of their fundamental rights within
the development of European and member states’ policies on migration management and social issues.
PICUM now guides more than 110 member organisations active in preventing discrimination, exploitation and
violence against undocumented migrants in 29 countries across Europe and in other world regions.
During the past decade, PICUM has successfully fostered understanding amongst a wide range of actors
about undocumented migrants' innate rights and the growing gulf between international human rights
obligations and the legislation and practice implemented in Europe. By researching undocumented migrants’
access to basic social rights, spreading information on law and practice, and reporting on exploitation, PICUM
has developed a centre of expertise to provide members, lobbyists, policy makers and others with knowledge,
advice and support.
