Through this Glasgow-based project, we are recruiting, training and supervising 45 volunteers over three years.
The goal is for 70% of them to be migrants and 30% from the host community, with a majority from disadvantaged and diverse backgrounds.
The volunteers are working across key roles in our organisation in order to develop their transferable skills and strengthen the organisation’s capacity to support migrants, amplify their voices, and bring communities together.
Activities include: organising community cohesion events; providing one-to-one support to migrants, including support with English or IT, or signposting to education or mental health services; and training migrants to develop media skills, confidence and understanding of how to engage with the public and policy makers.
