This project aims to organise, empower and build networks with some of the migrant communities most marginalised by Covid-19. It is a partnership project between Migrant Voice, Kanlungan Filipino Consortium, and RAPAR (Refugee and Asylum Participatory Action Research) running between November 2020 and April 2021.
The Resilience project provides spaces for migrants with limited immigration status and no recourse to public funds to discuss shared experiences throughout the pandemic and form networks of solidarity.
Surveys and story-telling interviews will capture the experience of migrant communities – especially those who have been most severely affected by Covid-19 in terms of lived experience and public health.
The project provides participants with media training to build skills in speaking out and raising awareness including through the creation of messages and production of videos to inform media/public debate.
The Resilience project strengthens leadership skills among Community Leaders to create communities that can sustain and support each other better during the pandemic and in the future.
Through strengthened networks and leadership and communities coming together, the project facilitates engagement with policy makers, informing debate and working towards change.
