Refugees in Libya speak out at RAAH Fest

In summer 2020, Migrant Voice spoke with a number of asylum seekers detained in Libya. We worked with them to raise their voices through this video, shown at RAAH Fest, a global movement for justice. Find out more about RAAH Fest here. 

Migrant Voice is working with Amnesty UK to call for the Government to ensure that everyone has access to their basic needs during the Covid-19 pandemic, regardless of their immigration status: access to safe, secure accommodation, the means to support themselves and their families, and vital healthcare. In January 2019, filmmaker Vito Milazzo made a short documentary about Edubiel, a Migrant Voice volunteer in Glasgow, and his unusual passion for extreme diving. It was published by BBC The Social.  

A film made for Migrant Voice by award-winning filmmaker Tim Langford, telling the stories of five of the international students who had their lives torn apart in 2014 when the UK Home Office wrongly accused them of cheating on an English test.

Nas Popalzai came to the UK as an unaccompanied minor from Afghanistan. For 10 years, he's been trying to win the right to stay here permanently. In January, he was finally given refugee status, to the delight of his friends and Nas himself. ITV Central covered the story
