Asian Voice reports on students' campaign

On 12 March 2019, British newspaper Asian Voice published a story in print and online about the international students affected by the Home Office decision to revoke or refuse tens of thousands of visas in 2014-15.

Journalist Priyanka Mehta spoke to several of the students and to our Director, Nazek Ramadan.

“I have spent more than £40,000 on my tuition and legal fees and now I am completely surviving on family support over here," said Geeta Rani, a student who came to the UK from India in 2011. "It’s embarrassing as a highly qualified person to be living on charity.

“It is very difficult to explain the situation to my family back in India, who do not know the full scale of the problem. But, I don’t want to give up. I’m innocent and I want to clear my name.”
