On 18 January, BirminghamLive published another story on our member Lewin Williams. Migrant Voice is supporting Lewin's campaign to remain in the UK.
Lewin, 74, is battling cancer and won't be able to afford medical treatment if he is deported to Jamaica.
His application to remain in the UK was rejected in 2019, and he was granted permission to appeal.
But MV's Birmingham Network Worker Salman Mirza spoke of the "frustration of delays" in Lewin's case to stay in the UK.
"We have been waiting for an appeal which has been granted since May last year, we have chased this up and asked the Home Office reconsider their refusal but to date have heard nothing," Salman told the publication.
"This is alarming as Lewin is a cancer sufferer and added stress will not help his already fragile health condition."
