On 9 February, BBC Newsnight featured a preview of Migrant Voice member Raja Noman Hussain (Nomi) speaking to the programme about how the TOEIC injustice impacted him
It came as a BBC Newsnight investigation, aired that evening, revealed new evidence which was a huge boost for our #MyFutureBack campaign.
The investigation has found evidence that the data used by the Home Office to remove thousands of students from the UK based on allegations of cheating was seriously flawed. It further questions why the Home Office continued taking actions against the students knowing there were issues with the evidence.
Nomi described how in his third year of his study in the UK he was suddenly detained by the Home Office and threatened with deportation to Pakistan.
"I was treated like a guilty person, without even being given a chance to prove my innocence in court," he told the programme.
