Sky News covers our new Building Resilience report

On 6 June, Sky News covered our new report - Releasing resilience and building networks of resilience - which was released in partnership with Kanlungan Filipino Consortium and RAPAR. This report is part of our Building Resilience partnership project and comprises the findings of a survey with 198 migrants about their experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic, alongside in-depth interviews and focus groups with 25 participants. 

The Sky News article included interviews with two undocumented migrants, which were facilitated through Migrant Voice. Angelina, who came to the UK from the Phillipines, told Sky News how she and her five-year-old child repeatedly had to go without food during the pandemic.

"I'm scared for my life, I'm scared for my son's life, and I'm scared of how we're going to survive each day," she said.

Nadia, who came to the UK fleeing religious persecution in her home country of India, told the broadcaster that during the first lockdown she and her family "were just living on baked beans and rice".

Migrant Voice director Nazek Ramadan told Sky News: "I think government could have done more in the middle of a global crisis, in the middle of a pandemic, to support migrants."
