On 24 March 2019, Metro UK published a video made by Migrant Voice about Bart Rokita, a Polish man who has lived in Birmingham for more than a decade. He is desperate to join the British Army but, since he doesn't have British citizenship, he has been told he cannot.

"My family fought in World War II," Bart said. "I feel like I want to join the Army, but I've been told I can't because I'm Polish and I need British nationality. So I feel very rejected in a way, and I feel unwelcome."

"I feel British," he says.

The video was also published by the Polish Express, accompanied by a short article telling Bart's story and encouraging readers to give their views on his desire to fight for Britain.
