In 2014, we produced a toolkit with advice for journalists and journalism students on reporting on migration issues. This toolkit developed out of research conducted that same year into the representation of migrants in the media and the impact on migrants of the lack of migrant voices.
The toolkit includes sections on reporting and responsibility, the importance of using terms accurately, key statistics and the necessity of including the voices of those impacted by the issues being covered.
This toolkit remains highly relevant and we encourage all those who work or aspire to work in the media to read it and engage with its content.
