Migrant Voice - Conference: "A better deal for migrants"

As part of our campaign against extortionate visa fees, we will be holding a conference, “A Better Deal for Migrants: Campaigning for a fairer visa and settlement process”, on 9 February 2023 in London.

We will be bringing together people who have first-hand experience of the UK’s settlement process, as well as campaigners and policy makers and shapers to discuss how we can campaign for a fairer visa systemfor migrants.

This is an event for individuals and organisations to come together to strategize and strengthen all our campaigning around these issues.

Join us at our conference if you have been impacted by extortionate visa fees, are on the 5 or 10 year route to settlement, or are campaigning on these issues.

The conference will include a panel session to discuss the current situation facing migrants in the UK and put into context how the UK Visa and Immigration system needs to change.

Speakers include:

  • Bell Ribeiro-Addy, MP for Streatham
  • Madeleine Sumption, Migration Observatory
  • Keziah Gitonga, visa fees campaign steering group member with experience of the UK visa system
  • Wilf Sullivan, Race Equality Officer, TUC
  • Anne Stoltenberg, Project Development Manager, Migrant Voice

A series of workshops facilitated by Ramfel, WeBelong, Praxis, JCWI, Reunite Families and the TUC will bring together campaigners to discuss tactics, messaging and how we can learn from other campaigns.

There will also be an opportunity to exchange ideas with other attendees as well as sign up to help different campaigns and share your own story.

Space is limited so please sign up now!
