Migrant Voice - London focus group on the impact of Brexit on families

We are looking for families affected by Brexit to share their views, experiences and feelings. Migrant Voice and the University of Birmingham are organising a focus group on Thursday April 26 in London on the impact of the EU referendum on EU families and their children.

If you would like to take part, please let me know asap if you can join us from 6-8.30pm on Thursday April 26 at Migrant Voice, Voluntary Action Islington, 200A Pentonville Road, London N1 9JP.

This small focus group is part of our research into the impact of the EU referendum on EU families and their children. The project is a partnership project led by the University of Birmingham.

The focus group is for:

• Parents, UK-based, born in the EU or in a relationship with someone from one of those countries
• Children over 16 Born and resident in the UK, where one of the parents is from an EU27 country
• We can also interview parents who were born outside the EU but hold an EU passport
• We are particularly looking to make sure we also hear from those over 60 and from countries that joined the EU after 2004 (Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania)

We are trying to get as broad as possible a mix of individuals from all different EU countries and a mix of age, gender, income, etc.

Please circulate this to your colleagues and friends to help us find a wide range of participants.

Please get in touch with Anne at [email protected] or 0207 832 5824 for more information.

More info about the project:
This research project  is being undertaken by Migrant Voice in partnership with the University of Birmingham. The project is called: ‘EU families and ‘Eurochildren’ in Brexiting Britain’ (www.eurochildren.info) and is particularly interested in gaining the perspectives and experiences of EU families and their offspring in light of the vote to leave the European Union.  The study is led by Dr Nando Sigona ([email protected], University of Birmingham) and it is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) as part of The UK in a Changing Europe initiative.
