We are delighted to invite you to a special Media Lab training workshop in preparation for International Migrants Day 2018.
The Media Lab session will take place on 11 December at Migrant Voice, VAI, 200A Pentonville Road, London N1 9JP
Every year on International Migrants Day, December 18, Migrant Voice joins in the celebrations of the amazing contribution of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees from all over the world but living in the U.K. This year marks the 18th anniversary of the International Migrant Day and a strong reminder for resilience, unity and togetherness at the eve of Brexit.
MV is gearing up for the launch of this special celebration 2018 by organising a special Media Lab. Join us on the 11th for one or both of our sessions:
Session 1 from 4.30-6.00 on writing letters to the editor
Learn how to develop a clear message and put it across in a letter to the editor format
(Facilitated by Daniel Nelson, Editor and freelance journalist. He has worked on and edited newspapers, magazines, news services and online operations in Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, The Philippines, Uganda, UK and West Africa; trained journalists in a dozen countries including at City University in London.)
Session 2 from 6.30-8.30 will focus on will focus on making videos using your mobile phone
Learn storytelling using film - including structuring, scripting and planning a film
(Facilitated by Simon Whitlock and Reya El-Salahi. Simon works for BBC and was previously a Video Producer for London Live News working on both features and news stories. Before joining the press he worked for NGO's and community organisations
Reya is a journalist and presenter.)
