Migrant Voice - Online Media Lab

Special Media Lab training workshop for migrants and refugees to be held online as group video conference training session.

We are excited to invite you to a very special training day all about communications: because what is more important than telling the world about the great work you do?

This training day is aimed at leaders of social innovation projects and social enterprises, and will be delivered by Migrant VoiceMigrationWork and Coventry City Council.

We will help you to learn how to promote your story, voice and message; to use communication effectively in your organisation; and to brand your work and to use a free simple design tool.

There will be 3 workshops:

Community Journalism: James Vukmirovic, a Wolverhampton based journalist for Express & Star, will lead a workshop on basic news writing and press statement writing skills, to help you write a pitch/blog/story for your project.

Communication Skills: Selbin Kabote will explore the importance of communication skills in marketing and promoting a business or project. This session will cover presentation skills, listening skills, business communication, and meeting skills.

Social Media and Branding: Abbie Draper and Adam Ali will cover branding, knowing your audience, and logos, and will teach you how to use Canva.

Date: Tuesday 31 March 2020 | 10am-3.30pm
Venue: ONLINE via video conference

The event is free.

For registration and to take part in the online session, please contact: [email protected].
