On Wednesday 12 June, international news publication Deutsche Welle published an article about the scandal affecting tens of thousands of international students wrongly accused of cheating by the UK Home Office in 2014.
Journalist Bethan Staton spoke to three students affected by the allegations, as well as interviewing Migrant Voice Director, Nazek Ramadan.
"I wake up in the morning and I don't know how I'm going to get through the day," Mazhrul said. "It's two weeks here, three there, then the next one. I have to talk to my friends and hope they keep supporting me."
"I've nothing left," he said later. "I've only two options — either suicide or living like this."
