On July 13, Birmingham Mail covered our new report - Releasing resilience and building networks of resilience - which was released in partnership with Kanlungan Filipino Consortium and RAPAR. This report is part of our Building Resilience partnership project and comprises the findings of a survey with 198 migrants about their experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic, alongside in-depth interviews and focus groups with 25 participants.
The Birmingham Mail article included an interview with Migrant Voice member Eric, who spoke about his experiences as an asylum seeker in the UK, having fled persecution as a gay man in his home country of Gabon.
"Now I cannot do much, I cannot go anywhere, I cannot work, I basically have to just be in a room and wait for an allowance from the Government," he told Birmingham Mail.
