Migrant Voice - Coverage of MV members' Black History Month e-magazine

For Black History Month 2020, Migrant Voice newsroom participants in the West Midlands created a 112-page e-magazine as part of the MiFriendly Cities project.

Local news platform I Am Birmingham reported on this fantastic achievement, with an article about the creation of 'Beyond' (27 Oct) and by reprinting an interview with local journalist and social activist Joshua Williams (25 Oct), one of many highlights in the magazine.

The first article includes quotes from some of the contributors, including sub editor Farisai Dzemwa:

“Watching and being part of a team that made the magazine dream come true was exhilarating,” she said. “Balancing home, work and the production of the magazine is something that I had doubted initially. But I can safely say that with passion, drive and the right kind of direction, possibilities are unlimited.”

Hold the Front Page, a news website for and about journalists, also reported on the magazine's launch.
