Migrant Voice - Coverage of new report into international students injustice

On 18 September, the Public Accounts Committee published a report into the Government's response to allegations of cheating on an English test by some international students in 2014. Migrant Voice had submitted substantial evidence for this inquiry, and we produced a statement in response to the publication.

The report had coverage in The Guardian, The Independent, The Financial Times, The Mirror, Politics Home, The NationalPIE News, Eastern Eye, StudyTravel MagazineNDTV and Economic Times.

Most of these reports included quotes from Migrant Voice.

Nazek Ramadan, Director of Migrant Voice, said that the report "would shame any government that claims to value justice and fairness", adding: "Working alongside many of the students affected, we have seen first hand the extreme hardship they face every single day as a direct result of the Home Office's deeply flawed reaction.

"'We're living in an open prison', they tell us, 'and our hope of ever being released is fading'.

"We urge the Home Secretary to read this report and take the necessary action to end this injustice and demonstrate that international students truly are welcome in this country."
