On 24 September, more than 100 news outlets covered a small demonstration at Westminster by some of the international students whose lives were devastated six years ago when the Home Office wrongly accused them of cheating on an English test and revoked their visas. On the same day, Prime Minister Boris Johnson received a letter signed by more than 200 of the affected students, calling on him to implement a solution that can help them clear their names and restart their lives.
The news was covered in the Guardian by Amelia Gentleman, a number of Indian news outlets (including the Economic Times, The Hindu, NDTV and The Tribune), the PIE News, StudyTravel Network and over 100 local newspapers (from the Wolverhampton Express and Star to the Inverness Courier) and national news sites (including Yahoo and MSN) across the UK, courtesy of reporting by the Press Association.
The articles quoted the letter, a number of affected students, Migrant Voice Director Nazek Ramadan and Stephen Timms MP.
