On 1 August, the Express and Star in Wolverhampton reported on a Media Lab organised by Migrant Voice in the city the day before. The Media Lab, part of the MiFriendly Cities project, was run by Denise Maxwell, a photojournalist from the West Midlands.
Speaking to the newspaper about the Media Lab participants, MV staff member Selbin Kabote said: "We want them to be able to narrate their own story about how they came into the country so that they can change the negative stereotype of asylum seekers, migrants and refugees into a positive through good storytelling."
