On 10 September, the Independent reported on a Public Accounts Committee hearing where Stephen Timms MP questioned the Home Office Permanent Secretary about the injustice still faced by thousands of international students who were wrongly accused of cheating on an English test by the Home Office in 2014 - the students we are working with through the My Future Back campaign.
"I welcome the Home Secretary’s commitment to implement all of the Windrush Lessons Learned recommendations," Stephen Timms told the Independent. "But the lessons are being ignored in handling the language testing scandal. As in Windrush, there is a complete failure to engage beyond individual cases.
"Learning the lessons from Windrush would mean creating a mechanism for innocent students to clear their names.”
