On 30 July, Migrant Voice Ambassador Nas Popalzai criticised the government's Nationality and Borders Bill in an article in Birmingham Live.
Speaking to the newspaper, Nas said: "I think the system is broken, but this won't fix it - life will just get worse for refugees.
"They're not going to stop coming because they are just trying to survive, anyone would do the same."
Migrant Voice Director Nazek Ramadan was also quoted in the article.
"If passed, [it] would completely undermine the vital human rights protections for refugees and asylum seekers", she said of the Bill.
Nazek added that the Bill "effectively scraps" the human rights standards under the Refugee Convention, which marked its 70th anniversary earlier this week.
