This Wednesday, Migrant Voice Director Nazek Ramadan was featured in an article about the tenth anniversary of the beginning of the Hostile Environment and its devastating human costs.
Nazek said: "Hostile environment policies have changed the fabric of our society. Perhaps no other policy in living memory has left such a malign mark, a stain like an oil slick. It is racist, xenophobic, immoral, illegal, unfair, punishing, divisive, mean-spirited, discriminatory and counterproductive."
The article includes other criticism of the Hostile Environment policies, including failures from the Home Office to ensure that innocent students were not deported following the TOEIC scandal in 2014, an issue for which Migrant Voice has been campaigning for years.
