Migrant Voice - MV member and Migrant Ambassador speaks to local paper about his experiences as a migrant in the UK

On 1 January 2021, the Wolverhampton Express & Star published an article about Toby Ephram, a Migrant Voice member and Migrant Ambassador. He spoke about the reasons he fled his country and came to the UK, the struggles he faced when he first arrived, and how he contributes to his local community.

"It was a struggle, but I'm proud to say it was a struggle, as I found communities who helped me get on my feet, such as the Ahmaddiyya Muslim Community," Toby said.

"At the time, I was not allowed to work, even though I wanted to, but after converting to the community, I found opportunities to fundraise and do so much to help my community.

"It also showed me that the vast majority of British people are open-minded and welcoming and I learned so much about myself in that time."
