Migrant Voice - Action against racism

This is a follow up from our earlier emergency meeting to take actions forward and engage a wider group of stakeholders in combating post referendum hate crime.

Wednesday July 20th from 4-6 pm at Migrant Voice, Collaboration House, 77-79 Charlotte Street, London W1T 4PW.

This is one of a series of meetings Migrant Voice is organising with migrant groups and organisations in London, Birmingham and Glasgow, to examine the implications for migrant communities of the surge in racial attacks and hate crimes against migrants, and to agree joint actions. We will also draw on the years of experience of migrant communities in reducing tensions to come up with actions to move forward.

We are extremely concerned about the sudden increase in hate crimes and racism targeted at European nationals in different parts of the UK, as well as against other minorities such as Muslims, and its impact on our communities and on social cohesion.

It is vital that we work together and engage a wider group of stakeholders in facing the challenges, especially since the debate about migration will inevitably intensify still further as politicians negotiate the new relationship with the EU in the coming months and years.

I hope you are able to join us. Please rsvp to anne[at]migrantvoice.org
