Join us for a webinar to launch the TOEIC Justice Project

We are inviting you to attend the launch of The TOEIC Justice Project, a joint initiative between Migrant Voice and law firm Bindmans LLP, who for years have both been supporting and representing the victims of the TOEIC scandal.

The launch of the project will take place on Zoom on Tuesday 6 July, from 5:00pm to 6:30pm, and will discuss recent developments in the TOEIC Scandal.

The event will provide updates on the following issues:

• Current immigration issues and ongoing judicial review challenges
• Campaigning and parliamentary action
• Civil claims for compensation for the falsely accused

The webinar will be chaired by Migrant Voice director Nazek Ramadan, alongside John Halford and Theodora Middleton from Bindmans. The speakers include:

This TOEIC scandal unfolded in 2014, after BBC Panorama revealed cheating by some international students on an English language test known as TOEIC at two London test centres. 

In response, the UK government asked Educational Testing Service (ETS), the company that ran the test, to investigate. As a result of this, the Home Office accused almost 34,000 students of cheating. Their visas were immediately revoked or refused, and more than 2,400 were deported, while a further 22,000 were told their test results were “questionable”.
