Migrant Voice - Migrant voice network meeting: ‘Care has no time limit’

Please join us on Tuesday 8 February 4-6pm on Zoom for our Migrant voice West Midlands network meeting: ‘Care has no time limit.’

Following the announcement of care workers being added to the Shortage Occupation list for visas, we're organising a meeting on this issue.

The new care worker visa will be available for new migrants to apply to from overseas, but will also be open to asylum seekers who have the right to work.

At this meeting we’ll hear about the new route, who will benefit and how to access it as well as discuss critical issues:
• Why is it a temporary route for only 12 months with no route to settlement?
• Why is it not extended to all migrants in the UK?

Come to our network meeting and have YOUR say and YOUR suggestions put forward

Speakers will include

  • Immigration Solicitor, Helen Salmon, Central England Law Centre
  • Migrant Voice members and care workers Tameka Beckford and Shantel Murray
  • Community activist Charles Ayman
  • Trade union reps from the care sector
