Network Meeting: The 10-year route - 10 years on, resisting the hostile environment

July marks ten years since the start of the ten-year-route to settlement. We invite you to join our network meeting - 'The 10-year route, ten years too long' on 12 July from 5-7pm on Zoom.

We will hear from people currently on the ten-year route, from Migrant Voice campaigners about how we're calling for routes to settlement to be capped at five years, and from Tania Stein at WeBelong about their successful campaign to ensure many young people who came here as children can settle after five years. Tania will share the learning from their campaign and help inspire us for future action.

Colin Yeo, immigration asylum barrister and founder of the Free Movement immigration law website, will give us an overview on some of the Home Office concessions around the 10-year route from a legal perspective.

We'll look at what recent wins, such as the new 5-year routes for children, may mean for our campaign against extortionate visa fees, and discuss how we can campaign for this to be extended to others who have to pay extortionate fees and can’t settle for at least 10 years.
