 Migrant Voice - West Midlands Media Lab

Migrant Voice and MiFriendly Cities are hosting a special online Media Lab training session on Tuesday 1 December 2020.

Time: 10.45am-3pm

Location: online via Zoom (log-in details will be sent out when you RSVP)

This Media Lab, the last of our series for this year, will be facilitated by Rizwan Ali Dar, a photojournalist, Photo-essayist and documentary photographer. Rizwan’s work explores migrant and refugee  communities, social activism, subcultures, identity and neo-tribalism.

The purpose of this workshop will be to encourage and facilitate the creation of media content which can be used during International Migrants Day (18 December) and link up with MiFriendly Cities IMD activities.

Schedule:

  • 10:45am – 11:00am: Zoom connections, Welcome and introductions
  • 11:00am – 12:00pm: Session 1 –  Photojournalism and photography skills session with Rizwan Ali Dar.
  • 12.00pm – 12.30pm: LUNCH BREAK
  • 12.30pm – 1.30pm: Session 2 – Capturing images for International Migrants Day
  • 1.30pm  –  1.45pm:  BREAK
  • 1.45pm  –  2.30pm: Session 3  – Feeedback, discussing and showcasing images
  • 2.30pm –   3:00pm: SESSION: Q&A, wind down, finishing off projects, evaluation.
  • 3.00pm – [CLOSE]
